Who signed up for a Spartan Race?

Oh man, I finally committed to doing a 9,000 ft!!! What am I thinking? Thankfully it is just the sprint distance.  James signed up to do the ultra which is around 28 miles.  That is just plain crazy.  So I am back at it again.  I am trying to focus a bit more on my endurance by incorporating more running and lighter weights with more reps.  The race is in Breckenridge and not until Aug 18th so I think I am in pretty good shape.


Here is what today's workout included:


10 min warmup on the treadmill at 6.2, no incline


5 sets

right arm snatch with lighter weight (I did 15 lbs) for 30 seconds

left arm snatch with same weight for 30 seconds

30 second rest between sets


5 sets

20 wall balls with lighter medicine ball (I used a 10lb)

45 seconds of jumping jacks

30 second rest between sets


5 sets

10 bicep curls, 10 lateral raises, 10 overhead tricep extensions

30 second hang 

no rest


5 sets

handstand against the wall

50 meter farmers carry (i used 2, 35 lb plates)

rest 30 seconds between sets



20 russian twists

20 accordians

20 plank jumping jacks

20 jump in and out while holding a plank

20 second hold your plank


cool down with easy jog or stretch: at least 10 mins.
